Filoli is one of my favorite Bay Area destinations for photography or even an afternoon outing. It’s gorgeous historic home and sprawling seasonal gardens create the perfect backdrop for photos year round. I love all of the winding paths and different vignettes it can create to tell your story. While it truly is beautiful year-round, summer is a favorite of mine because the hydrangeas are in full bloom and absolutely stunning so I knew it would be the perfect place to spend the late afternoon with my friend Katy and her son. Each stage of early motherhood feels so fleeting, those tiny toes and hands grow so fast, routines change and milestones fly by. It’s so important to take the time to slow down and soak it in, even if just for an afternoon, and getting a chance to document it and preserve it for you is my honor and pleasure.
